Three Tim Burton worlds translated into augmented reality. Each filter transforms a single frame into an immersive dimensional portal where the physical and digital collapse into one.

Overview
Context
This project explores the boundary between physical space and digital augmentation through the lens of Tim Burton's visual universe. Three distinct worlds — Alice in Wonderland, Beetlejuice, and The Nightmare Before Christmas — each become a filter that overlays the real world with character, atmosphere and motion.
The AR filters were designed to feel like entering a dimension rather than applying a cosmetic layer, prioritising narrative immersion over novelty.
Intent
To translate the emotional texture of Tim Burton's filmmaking — the gothic, the whimsical, the melancholic — into a spatial augmented reality experience that people can step inside.
The Three Worlds
Click each world to enter. The AR filter plays over the still frame — tap again to pause.
The Portal System
Each AR experience operates as a layered translation from source world to filter logic to augmented reality output.
